A Place to Rest & Recharge, Free of Charge
The Brake Room™ experience was a rest station for delivery workers that opened in New York City during the winter of 2023. The dedicated space where these workers could rest and recharge was our way of thanking the food delivery community for all their hard work.
The food delivery industry exploded over the past few years. But sadly at the cost of one group of people: those who deliver. More than 65,000 food delivery workers in New York go above and beyond to deliver for the city. Winter conditions make what they do even more challenging. While they’re always on the go, they essentially have no place to go in between stops. So we teamed up with Chick-fil-A to create the first-of-its-kind rest station for the food delivery community – The Brake Room. A place for them to warm up, rest up, grab some coffee, charge their phones and use the restroom if needed, free of charge.
The Innovation group at McCann New York was responsible with managing the design, build, launch and operation of this winter 2023 pop-up.
